WORLD darts champion Phil “The Power” Taylor has hit the bullseye with his glamorous fitness instructor – days after announcing the breakdown of his marriage.

Taylor, 50, is dating super-fit Laura Church after his split from wife of 23 years Yvonne.

Father-of-four Taylor, a 15-times world champion, is romancing 47-year-old Laura while travelling the UK on the lucrative darts circuit.

The pair spent two nights together last week in an Aberdeen hotel, where Taylor was starring in a Premier League darts event at the city’s Exhibition Centre.

They shared his double room in the £65-a-night Holiday Inn Express, which was crowded with fans and fellow darts players including Dutchman Raymond van Barnevald.

The couple arrived from Manchester on Wednesday and had breakfast together on Thursday before going shopping ahead of Taylor’s televised clash with Welshman Mark Webster.

Taylor, who has 150 pro tournament wins, has credited Yvonne with starting him in the sport which has made him a £10million fortune.

But he announced his split from her three weeks ago, blaming years of touring. He said on March 18: “Our relationship has become strained. We bicker a lot and the years of me being on the road have taken their toll. We’ve stayed together for a long while for the sake of the kids.”

Taylor, who has been with Yvonne since they were both aged 15, said: “We still love each other but we need space. We need to live our lives separately and see what happens. You never know, when the dust settles we might get back together.”

The Professional Darts Corporation insisted in a statement that “no other parties” were involved. But within six days of the announcement, it was Laura watching Taylor romp home to an 8-1 win over James Wade in a Premier League match at the Brighton Centre.

The revelation that Laura – who spent four days at the champ’s home last August advising him, Yvonne and their children about nutrition – is now his girlfriend is likely to enrage Yvonne, 49.

Laura even cooked with her during her stay at the family home in Crewe, Cheshire.

A source said: “Yvonne welcomed Laura into her home and will be furious she and Phil are together so soon after the end of the marriage.

“Yvonne was with Phil for more than 30 years. To suddenly see him in a romance with his fitness teacher is going to be very hard for her to stomach.”

Portly Taylor, who has shed three stone since being introduced to health guru Laura, spent the night at her home after the Brighton tournament.

Then she joined him for a weekend at the rented house in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, where he has been living since moving out of the family’s £1million mansion in Crewe.

On Monday, March 28, Laura hinted at the romance on Twitter: “Exciting times looming. Life will soon have a little more sparkle!”

Last year Laura posted a picture of her and Taylor taken during the visit on her website and wrote: “They are such a lovely family and made me so very welcome. Phil said he has more energy now than when he was 20!”

Laura said she had helped Yvonne, who has diabetes, by designing an eating plan including protein shakes.

In an interview two months later, Taylor lavished praise on Laura and former male bodybuilding champ Kerry Kayes for improving his health: “It has revolutionised my life. I’m just gutted I didn’t work with them 10 years ago.”

Laura later encouraged followers to vote for Taylor in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award on Twitter. He finished second, an accolade he hailed as the biggest of his career.

Yvonne stood by Taylor when he was convicted of indecently assaulting two 23-year-old women after a 1999 exhibition match in Scotland and fined £2,000.

The couple have four children – Lisa, 28, Chris, 27, Kelly, 21, and Natalie, 18.

Laura, who has a show on Sky Active, runs a fitness academy in Gillingham, Kent, with clients including ex- Olympic athletes John Regis and Tessa Sanderson.

In 2003 she was sacked as a £2,000-a-month trainer with Gillingham FC after texting married player Chris Hope. Two men later claimed they had affairs with her.

Speaking at his new home in his native Stoke last night, Phil admitted Laura stays with him but always sleeps in her own room.

He said: “I’m not with Laura. She works for me. She does my meals. I haven’t shared hotel rooms with her. Bad publicity just makes me more famous.”

When told of our evidence they spent nights together in Aberdeen, he said: “I don’t want to talk about it… I’m getting myself incriminated. I’ve done nowt wrong… I’m not justifying myself.”
