World snooker champion Mark Williams has been warned not to return to Dubai - because he could face jail.

The Welshman's wife stunned fans when she revealed she would be 'riding' Williams following a drinking session.

She tweeted: "I am riding @markwil147 tonight. He don't know what he's in for (sic) getting me drunk and thinking he's going to sleep. No chance my darling. Get that LUBE ready.''

Muslim laws in the United Arab Emirates condemn public displays of affection, with tourists jailed as little as kissing.

Williams shared a selfie with his wife cuddling in a pool and admitted their behaviour had shocked a barman.

A legal expert told the Daily Star: "Public displays of affection are strictly forbidden. That includes kissing and petting. The involvement of drink is even more serious.

"If the barman had reported them it could have been a major incident. If they are going to behave like this it is best they don't do it in Dubai."

The couple have now left Dubai, with Williams tweeting: "Lovely time @BurjAlArab with @jodenwill time to go home now and start practicing for the busy tour ahead."
