Joe Perry will play Ali Carter in Sunday's World Open final in China after impressively defeating world number four Neil Robertson.

Perry won 6-2 against Australian Robertson in Saturday's second semi-final in Yushan after Carter had earlier triumphed 6-1 over the tournament's surprise package Thepchaiya Un-Nooh.

After sharing the opening four frames, Perry took control of the tie with successive century breaks of 132, 102 and 120 to lead 5-2 before clinching a deserved victory with a clear-up break of 91.

The earlier semi-final was a low-scoring affair with world number 33 Un-Nooh, who knocked out Mark Selby, Alan McManus and Anthony McGill on his way to the last four, producing the only half-century break (54).

Carter, who has reached his first ranking event final since the 2013 German Masters, admitted it was not a classic encounter.

"I think today was just about my experience really," Carter told World Snooker. "It wasn't that pretty but I did what I had to do, I know he is a very dangerous player."

Looking forward to the final, which will see the winner pocket £90,000, Carter added: "Joe is a very good player and has a strong all-round game. It's going to be a tough game, but I'm just going to go out there and enjoy it."
