Two-time world champion Mark Williams will be in Wales' two-man World Cup team despite carrying an injury.

The 40-year-old left-hander has an operation on his right shoulder scheduled for 3 July.

But he will be travelling to China to compete alongside Michael White in the event which starts in Wuxi on 15 June.

Williams and Matthew Stevens reached the semi-finals the last time the World Cup for teams was staged in 2011 before losing to eventual winners China.
